I have a very large foam insulated unit that im looking to turn into a large smoker. With my biggest concern for the foam getting to hot and melting and relaleasing fumes. I had planned to frame the inside with steel studs 3.625inch for the sides top and bottem to isolate the originals cooler walls. Insulated with rockwool. And have additional 1inch of kaowool 2ft up from the bottem around the area to house the propane burner. Then have the whole thing lined with 16gauge mild steel to hold it all in. Will this provide an addiqaute amount of insulation/partition from the origional cooler housing for me to do a hot smoke.
