I live in Alabama where some of the best BarBeQue is regularly served up everyday.   Unfortunately , some of the worst.                          We take great pride in our states best.   We even have a  "North Alabama BBQ trail".     At one time in the not to distant                  past , there were seven bbq joints within easy drive from the house.   One is superb , one I will never enter again , one Ive                  not tried , the rest are gone.      Keeps me smoking at home .

Smoking good meat at home will really make you picky about where you eat BBQ when you go out. And that's the way it should be. If I can't get decent food in a restaurant, I'll just eat at home. If you want me back in your restaurant, make a better product.

The only good BBQ around here is at my house.

There is only one BBQ joint in town & it's Sonny's.

All I can say is thank goodness for SMF!  Once my wife and I moved out of Texas to California, we could not find a restaurant with the true smoke flavors we left behind.  A rare few places got close, but nothing like we remembered.  When I finally decided to learn to smoke meats, and found SMF, our smoky BBQ life got a WHOLE lot better.
