So I've been deciding between whether to try roadside chicken or dirt sailors Carolina gold wings. Carolina won out!
Yesterday was a long, painful day capping off a long painful week of trying to get things done outside before supposed storms that are being promised. Yesterday and the day before were spent removing rotten dug in railroad ties from the front and driveway. As a disabled person this just about killed me. To top it off, the soon to be previous owners next door asked if I could mow their lot one more time before closing. They live in Vegas and I've been doing it since October, but had stopped two weeks ago anticipating the closing date of today. I'm guessing that the buyers pitched a fit over it not being freshly mowed, whatever...
So, three acres later, sunburned, beaten, and on the verge of heat exhaustion, I fired up half a chimney of kingsford comp. and poured it over some royal oak lump. I added a split of oak and let it burn a few minutes before closing up a bringing it up to temp @350.
TBS rolling and it’s time to add some chicken
After about 30 minutes the drummies were just about ready so it was time to sauce.
And a soy hotdog for the little.
Plated with hush puppies and cucumber salad.
