I was smoking a whole chicken at 275 and I noticed I was getting heavy smoke. I opened it up, and saw nothing out of the normal. Come back out 30 minutes later and my smoker is off, and won't turn on. I remove the chicken and put it in the oven and take a good look at my smoker... And it appears it caught fire!
Has anyone ever had a similar issue, or know if it's possible to fix the smoker, or if I'm better off buying a new one?

What part was burning?--

All of it?

The whole interior?

Did you let it completely cool off & try again?

Could be the High heat safety switch.

It appears the lower half of the smoker was caught on fire. (based off the char marks on the smoker walls) The fire was out by the time I realized it was off.

I just tried the smoker again, and it is still not working. Won't even power on.

If you don't have that smoker long, even if the warranty is over, it might do you some good to call Masterbuilt, and tell them what happened.

Their Customer Service is usually Great, and helpful in situations like that.
