Huge Mount of restaurants go out of business every day in this country. There are places that specialize in selling off their equipment. One such place I have used for years is PCI Auctions---- https://www.pciauctions.com/
Can't begin to tell you the amount of stuff you can find ----every thing from cutting boards, knives, meat lugs, grinders, mixers, food processors, stainless tables. Every thing you would imagine in a restaurant and stuff you wouldn't.
Like all auctions most stuff goes really cheap---some not so much.
If you go there----click on the map for the closest location to you. There in, lies the catch----if you don't live within a reasonable driving distance of one of their sites-----shipping may be more then it's worth. I am fortunate to live within 25 miles of one, so have no idea of those costs.
Below are some pics and prices on a few things I have gotten over the years.
3 foot stainless table-----$30.00
6 foot stainless table----bought this with bottom shelf slightly damaged for $30.00----used top shelf on some old kitchen cabinets----part of the bottom shelf became sink drain board---rest used for various projects.
Sink drain board.
2 high quality S.S. knives----.50 cents a piece
Cuisinart 14 cup food processor -------$ 10.00----did have to buy a new blade for this eventually.
Check it out----especially if you have a dedicated place or planning to make one---or if you do large amounts of meat processing.
Blaise
