I was at Costco today checking out the cuts they sell and their prices.
I am north of the border, so these prices are in Canadian dollars.
The two that jumped out as good value were
Eye of round, $7.99 per kg average size around 4kg so $30+

Sirloin tip whole, $8.49 per kg, average size around 6kg so $50+

Does anyone have experience cooking either cut? Will they smoke up well? What would you recommend? Good price? Any input is welcome.
Thanks

Either eye of round or sirloin tip make great roast beef sandwiches when cooked med/rare & sliced thin.

If I had to choose one I would go with the eye of round.

Thanks Al.
They also had top sirloin at $11.99 per kg, average size 6/7kg so around $75+.
Would this a better cut to smoke as a roast rather than cutting thin for sandwiches? Worth paying the extra for a better cut?
Thanks
