north central Mn
1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
1/4 cup quick oats
1 cup wild rice
1 large egg, fresh from the nest
1 cup high temp cheddar
Fresh garlic from the garden
Fresh green onions from the garden
Montreal steak seasoning
A few dashes of Worcestershire

Onto the grill Weber and smoked with cherry splits until it hits 155 deg, also added a few stuffed shrooms, stuffed with cheddar and bacon crumbles. At 155 it went in to rest while the corn on the cob was cooking on the grill. Turned out awesome. The wife and kids loved it too.

Thanks for the points. The oats were a trick from my childhood, probably to make the meat go farther. They pretty much disappear when cooked.

The wild rice was leftovers from a previous meal earlier in the week, it was the first time I've added to meatloaf, I didn't want to waste it.

Great looking meat loaf.  I never thought about adding rolled oats to a meatloaf.  How did you come up with that idea, and how were they--cooked in the juices??

Gary
I always put rolled oats in mine.  I use it in place of breadcrumbs.  The juices cook the oats such that you can't really tell there are any in the loaf while eating it.

I use Oats as well.  In addition we use finely diced mushrooms when using ground turkey to make meatloaf (Trying to be healthier)

Smoke ON!

Thanks everyone for the points, it was on the grill about 2 hours, I'm not sure about the grill temperature, I was busy tilling the garden.
