Ok so my doctor wants me to cut out starches and sugars. BBQ is ok but no bun, no sugary sauce or rubs. Doesn't have to be forever just long enough for it to not be a regular part of my diet. But before I jump into that I want a good pork shoulder with mustard sauce and hash and rice. Problem is, I don't know how to make hash. Anyone have a good hash recipe? I've tried searching but never been able to find one.

Lance, Sorry to hear that your Doctor has you on a short leash. Maybe you need to find another Doctor that likes to smoke good Que. I really like hash, but I've never made any. There are several folks who may have a good recipe, but due to the rules I can't tell you where to find them. If you PM me, I will give you some contact information.

Hey thanks Joe! My doctor actually rock! When I asked her if I could still eat BBQ she said " absolutely, just skip the bun." Then she said "I eat bacon almost every day. Fats aren't the problem, refined sugars and starches are." I say she's a keeper. My only hang is I like my sauces, so that will take some getting used to.
