Brisket drip pan

For the guys that use a drip pan. Do u just put it in the smoker at beginning filled with beef broth and other items? Let brisket smoke and drip into pan until wrapped? When u wrap, do u wrap brisket in same pan drippings are in or do u wrap in another pan and just leave drippings on smoke do get more flavor?
 
I usually put celery, onions, & carrots in the pan with a can of French onion soup.

If I wrap it, I put the brisket in the pan with the drippings & cover it with foil.

What Al said, except I put my brisket on a small rack in the pan before foiling. Just to keep it for sitting in the juice.
