Hello Again All,

I bit the bullet a few weeks back and bought a BBQ Guru Cyber Q to help me sleep better at night. This unit works really well at dealing in and maintaining pit temps throughout the cook. I'm also using a Maverick 733 for both pit and internal food temps. The probes for both pit temps is almost exact within a degree or two. The internal temp probes on the other hand tend to vary sometimes as much as a 12 degree difference. Is there a way to calibrate these types of probe sensors?? I do know that I'm not able to submerge in water. As of now I've been using the Maverick to be my go to internal temp reading. I also use a thermapen which is closer to the Maverick than the Cuber Q.

I found the same thing with my DigiQ DX2, the food probes read quite a bit differently between the DX2 and the Maverick.  The DigiQ DX2 read lower than the Maverick.

The first time I used the food probe on the DX2 I was smoking tri tips.  When the DX2 temp indicated the meat was medium rare, it was actually medium well, which is what my Maverick was telling me.  I only used the food probe one time on the DigiQ DX2, preferring to stick to the Maverick. I just use the DX2 to control chamber temps and leave the food probe in the drawer.
