I just recently purchased the following grill. I was wondering how hard it would be to smoke on it or if it was even possible. I am new to smoking so I figured it would be better to ask than ruin a good piece of meat.

I have done some research and I think I would be able to lower the charcoal tray all the way down and offset the heat. I have read reviews and it might be hard to keep proper temps. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not at home so I don't have pictures of my exact one however its a clone of a Kingsford grill.

The video shows the door on the front for adding charcoal and then shows the inside. There are minor variances but nothing huge.

With a Webber kettle grill, I did some light smoking by adding branches gradually as the charcoal burned.  I wouldn't call this traditional smoking but, it did impart smoke flavor.

With your grill, I would try soaking some wood chips of choice in water and adding them to the grill while cooking on a low heat and see how that suits your taste buds.  You could also try a smoke tube to put more smokey goodness in your meat.

Absolutely you can smoke on that grill.  Just build your fire on each side of the charcoal grate with your charcoal and wood chunks, lower it all the way, then put the meat in the middle.  Should work fine!

One can smoke on just about any grill with a lid. Put your coals along with some wood chunks on one side and place the meat on the opposite side. Close the lid, open the top vent all the way and adjust the heat with the lower vents.
