Happy Saturday Everyone!

My 6 year old son has been watching me BBQ for quite a while along with helping me.

A few months ago he (with help from Dad) developed his own rub, he made 12 different rubs and picked his favorite (high sweet, low heat).  Today he wanted to smoke ribs from start to finish.

So here we go!!!

He did a really good job prepping them.  For you that are concerned, I did the trimming and removal of the membrane.

Smoke ON!

Love it!
Way to go young man, looking good.

Start'em young and start'em right!
That goes for cooking just as well as fishing, hunting and shooting.
Thanks!

He is already fishing and shooting, hunting will come soon.  He just turned 6 a few months back.

He loves to BBQ with Dad!

Smoke ON!

Man, what a wonderful experience with your son.
Thanks guys.  It was a great experience.   He wanted to show me that he could do it from start to finish.  The only thing I did was trimming and unwrapping the foil (no burns no cuts).

Very grateful that he wants to BBQ.

That's very cool Jason!

Your probably going to have a teenage gourmet chef & see him on a TV cooking show!

Oh, and the ribs look fantastic!!!

Point!

Al,

Thanks much.  He has been telling me for a while that he can do it all himself!

It would great to see him on TV.

Thanks & Smoke ON!

Points to the Head Chef!

Those ribs look spot on!

My Sous chef had his first apron at 4, and his own knives at 5.

Now his favorite job is lighting the smokers. Who doesn't like running torches!

Always good to get the kids involved early with cooking!
