I have to admit, my bride is very low maintenance. We are leaving on a road trip tomorrow to go watch #2 son graduate in New Mexico, so I asked her last night wat she wanted to do today for Mother's Day dinner. I named off a few of her favorite restaurants and she said; "ribs, I want some baby back ribs".

So, it begins with the ribs.

I went and got these from the local meat market in Plano. They are higher than most places, but the meat is really good quality, and these 3 racks of baby back ribs weigh 13 pounds combined! They leave a LOT of meat on them. In the pic, the bottom rack has the trimmings from the ribs. I'll need a sample later!

Light slather of yellow mustard, my comp rub, and hickory smoke is all these critters will get.

More later!

She and her mother are doing a spa day, so I've been having a lot of fun smoking stuff and eating leftovers! My kitchen smells really good right now! But it sure is a mess! Time to clean!

I'm along for the ride! My bottom rack always has some kind of nourishment for the cook on it. Usually something quick like trimmings or drummies. Need a lot of calories to maintain concentration during these long cooks ya know.

Sounds great, Cranky! I just realized I've never seen one of your rib cooks!
Looking forward to the finish...

Uh oh! Pressure is on now! Smoking these in the electric since it was already semi heated up from the sticks this morning.

Also, bride said fall off the bone, so these will be a bit more tender than I usually do.

FOTB is the norm around here. No worries...

Snack went well with a Crown and Coke!

Ribs will be pulled in just a few minutes. Going a bit longer tonight to get the bride a fall off the bone finish.

Nothing wrong with a little crown. Looking to see the color of your comp run. Looks great so far. I'm still learning all this competition stuff.

Nothing too special to look at this go around, but she got her fall off the bone wish! I did these in the homemade electric, so colors aren't really gonna be there. The flavor is great though.

They aren't as black as one pic shows them to be, but it was dark and iPhone was all I had.

She's happy, so I'm thrilled! :yahoo:

Looks great. I understand the phone pics. It's all I have to use.

Happy wife is what it's about.

Those things look really great, Charlie. Love me some baby backs. Crown goes good with anything, but what's the coke for?

Keep up the great smoking and congrats for your son. Joe. :points:

Ribs look good Cranky, and having the wife happy is always good, We finished our leftover brisket for her day lol. Good job.
