All,

So, like many others, I own the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker. I got mine last summer (2016 model) and I believe it's the 30 inch. It has the digital read display on top, no glass on front, model number is 20078715. Using this MES, I do not get that beautiful TBS that everyone loves and talks about. I can, at times, get it by manually smoking in my generic grill, but with the MES I do not get the TBS at all. It's typically thick, white, clouds of smoke.

Now, this is okay if I don't smoke for long periods of time. But on longer cooks, that smoke tends to be a bit too much, and although it isn't "harsh" it's a bit intense. And it no longer tastes like something that has just been "kissed" with smoke, but it tastes like something that was in a small house fire.

I'm not expecting the MES to, off the shelf, give me TBS. But, what devices out there are capable of providing this, possibly a mod or something, for this MES? I saw the A-MAZE-N-TUBE-SMOKER and saw a couple YouTube videos... But I haven't seen any video where this thing is giving TBS either, just the thick, white, billowy smoke that I'm already getting with my MES.

Anyone care to chime in here, and let me know how I can finally catch that TBS dragon?

:Take a look at the Mailbox Mod. It uses the AMNPS maze to make TBS inside a mailbox and dryer vent to get it in the smoker. It works when you hot smoke and is particularly good for Cold smoking...JJ
