Hi everyone. My name is Brad, and  I'm new to this forum and live in The Woodlands, Texas, a township about 30 miles north of Texas.  I'm new to smoking meats.  I'm very interested because, after finding out I was diabetic, I'm o a strict Paleo diet.  My doctor thinks that if I really get down to business on my health by eating right and exercise I can avoid medication.  So this means I cannot eat sugar, consume dairy products, must avoid wheat and processed foods.  Wish me luck ... I'm already down 15 pounds after 5 weeks!

Another reason I have an interest in this forum is that I love tailgating at Texas A&M games.  Would love to get good enough at this to do a big cook next fall.  Not that I'm an Aggie, mind you, as I went to college in Georgia (where I grew up), but both my kids went to A&M and, as a result, have become very attached to the school.

Anyway, look forward to joining this forum.  Hopefully, some of you old pros can give me some really good tips!
