Hi everybody,

I'm a Danish transplant living here with my American husband, going on 6 years here. My husband has always been smoking, mainly fish. Over the last few years we have been smoking ribs, turkey, chicken, pork loins, sausages as well. Now we're moving on to bacon and are giving cold smoking a try. I will most probably need a lot of advice LOL Thanks for having me here.

Welcome aboard and ahhhh Socal. I lived there for 17 years in Ramona.   Miss it but Texas is a little less populated.    I do miss the Glamis Sand Dunes and my sand rail!!!!!   Lots of knowledgeable people here to glean information from.  I have learned a ton from them!!!!

Thanks a lot, Ramona is just round the corner from us, living in Santee - well, a little bit more than round the corner, but we pass there frequently - going to Julian!

Mysos, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and bringing your experience and questions all at the same time.

Have fun!

Ray
Thanks a lot Ray, well, probably a lot more questions than experience LOL But hoping to learn! Looking for wood meal/flour for cold smoking at the moment, difficult to find the right stuff at reasonable prices I've found out!

Welcome to SMF!
You're in the right place for advice, tons of it here and those who have it are willing to share it.
Look forward to your smokes/cooks.

I was born/raised for the most part in SoCal, San Diego.
Best thing I ever did was leave... LOL.

Oh my, what a welcome, best thing you did was leave the area where I'm living ROFL It's expensive for sure, too warm during summer (living 20 miles inland from SD), and we don't even go to the beach which would be an attraction. But being from Denmark, used to live in Copenhagen where I had the citylife, the beaches and very close to woods, wetlands etc. it IS difficult to please me LOL

Thanks everybody! Still settling in here! Getting a lot of good info.
