Shout Out to Junior over at Gabby's grills. He did two 15 x 14.5 grates for me for 40 bucks plus shipping. These are super heavy duty!! This unit originally came with wire grates as it was made to be lighter. Back in the day Oklahoma Joe made these offsets called chuck-wagon KD2 or Knock-Downs because the legs, front shelf, and smoke stack would come off. But I noticed that I had an extra inch of play with the old grates. Hell to me that is usable space. So instead of 15x14 I did 15x14.5 . He uses that round steel on these as it is stronger than angle iron. It's what I wanted and he did it.

This guy does nice work. If you guys don't have your Santa Maria attachment yet for your kettle, you must have it. It is a completely different way of grilling meat. I grew up doing it so I should know. The guy that made my grates makes these and the quality is very very high.

The grates look great!

I really like the round steel idea!

I might have him make me one for the top rack in my Lang.

I think it would give me a little more head room on the top.
