My local Kroger had pork butts on sale for $0.99/pound. (Usually $1.99-2.49) I picked up six. I would've purchased more, but I wasn't sure how much space I had in the freezer!

Gonna be makin' some sausage and pulled pork this summer! Also gonna start my air-cured adventures...

That's a great deal.

Best I get here is under 1.17 a lb and that's buy the case.

Dang, Case. If I were you, I think I'd start raising hogs. $2.49 is rough for butts. Here when football season starts, some of the grocery stores try to get over $2.00 because of demand, but most folks just let them sit in the counter. Our regular pricing is around $1.39.

Do you have a restaurant depot nearby? Good luck. :grilling_smilie:

99 cents a pound is always a score!  Four weeks ago at Winco I picked up a $.99/lb butt, intending to go back for more.  Got busy and didn't make it.  Went back yesterday and picked up a 10 lb butt for $1.58/lb.  It was mislabeled as a sirloin but was clearly a butt.  The rest of the butts were $1.88/lb.

Case, I just checked and a Winco is opening in Bend.  Check it out.

Edit: I just checked an additional source and now I'm not so sure the Bend store has opened.
