I just wanted to introduce myself I have been a long time (nearly 6 years) lurker on the forum and thought it was time to say hello.
I am a originally from Rochester, NY but have been living in Ohio for the oast 23 years. I am a Husband, father of a beautiful tween daughter and I have an English Bull Terrier (like General Patton's dog or Spuds MacKenzie). I am a foodie & gun guy with a Jeep Wrangler who loves to home brew beer, drink scotch, enjoy a good cigar now and again, cook and I am passionate about smoking meat.
Up until a year and a half ago we lived in a rented townhouse so I was limited to propane or electric as my heat source. Based on recommendations from the fourm I went wuth LP gas and have been using a modded Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite 18, if I had to do it over again, i'd go with the 30!
Now that I am a homeowner with a nice back yard I am going to buy a new Backwoods Chubby G2 as my rig this season. I cannot wait.
I have been tweaking my rub for about 4 years and I think I got it where I want it. I have been told I make some of the best smoked ribs and pulled pork that they ever hadd from the people who have tried them. I have yet to try a brisket but once I get my Chubby G2 it will be one of my first things to try.
