Hey all,

Just a quick note to say hello and introduce myself. My name's Doug, and I'm finally getting around to joining the SM forum, following years on the Brethren forum. Anyway, I run a BBQ team called Eastern Beast BBQ out of Long Island, NY. We're moving into our fifth season on the local KCBS circuit, and still having a blast doing it. We run a Backwoods Competitor at comps, and have been cooking on a Lang 84D for the last couple years as well.

I definitely prefer cooking on the Lang when time allows, and continue find myself squarely in the Texas BBQ camp when it comes to technique, flavor profiles, and general love of oak-smoked barbecue. Just got back from my third annual BBQ tour of Central Texas, this time getting out to Taylor and Elgin for some incredible 'que at Southside Market and Louie Mueller BBQ, plus the obligatory trip down to Lockhart for lunch at Smitty's and a case of sausages from Kreuz.

Looking forward to being part of the community here, and wish you all a great BBQ season.

Doug
