Nine pound pork butt I smoked over night. Set MES electric smoker at 235 and hit 175 Degrees at 5  hours. Wrapped in foil and back in smoker. I slept from 4:30 am to 7 am. When I woke the temperature had reach 250 degrees. Pulled and opened foil for 15 minutes the closed foil and wrapped in towel and set in cooler for 3 hours. Pulled pork with my fingers and it is just awesome. Both pictures are total butt. Top is meat around the bone. I had forgotten to take a picture of the whole butt before I started to pull, so I stopped and grabbed my tablet. I need to find a rub that is not so spicy. I used Twist'd Q Sweet Heat I found at Sam's Club.  I also used brown sugar on top of that. I had oral cancer and had reconstruction of my mouth so I am spice sensitive.

That looks almost like it volunteered to shred! It's hard to beat good PP.

As for the rub, there are quite a few easy recipes on here that should fit the bill.

Good looking butt. Especially the color and finish. If I were you, I would buy Jeffs fun and sauce recipes. They are very user friendly and can be tweaked to your personal taste. My folks like a sweeter version with not so much heat. I make it like that and it still has Jeffs great basic taste.

Give it a try.

That pulled pork looks amazing!  I agree with Joe about Jeff's rub, it's the only one I use now.  It can be tweaked however you want, but the base flavor is awesome.
