So, after watching me man the grill for 12 hours this weekend working on a pulled pork butt, my wife finally "made" me get a smoker, so I promptly obliged and went out and got a MES.

About to do my first meal in the new smoker, but unfortunately everything is closed, so I'm stuck with what we've got in the house.  Did a LOT of forum reading, but it seems like for every opinion there's a contrary opinion, so I put together the best plan I could think of from a variety of suggestions.

Have corn on the cob, but no husk.  My thought was rub in EVOO, salt and pepper, put them in a vegetable grilling basket (it has a slotted bottom), then cover the basket in foil and smoke at 250 for about 90 min.  My thought was the slots will allow the smoke up through, but the foil will maintain some moisture so the corn doesn't dry out.  Thoughts?

Plan for baked potatoes was again, rub in EVOO, salt and pepper, then just throw them right on the grates at 250 for 2 hours.  They're about 1/2 lb potatoes.  Thoughts on that one?
