Have not found a satisfactory iPhone Smoking Log at the iTunes Store, so created my own. I used MyStuff2 iOS application and have found it to be a very flexible database application. To date, I have created 5 databases with it. The Smoking Log contains the following:

Date, Meat, Cut, Weight, Preparation, Ambient Temperature, Weather, Smoking Wood, Target Smoke Temp, Actual Smoke Temp, Target Meat Temp, Actual Meat Temp, Time On, Time Off, Vent positions, Remarks, and a photo of the finished cook.

With this app, you can create what ever data categories and attributes you want - a great app.

Plus, you can Import and export data, (It can be exported in CSV format), and much more than a novice user like myself can use!

When I first started smoking I had a regular 3 ring binder & wrote a journal of every smoke I did, with as much info as I could think of.

For several years I referred to that notebook each time I smoked anything, changing & tweeking as I went. Now it's pretty much all in my head & I can't think of the last time I referenced the notebook. However I did write down the final recipes & techniques that were developed from the notebook notes & will reference that from time to time. They are also on my computer for an easy print out.

What ever method you use I'm glad to see you are using the info from each smoke to improve on your mistakes & evaluate your successes.
