The Vacmaster 320 came in yesterday. It was one of the most well  packaged things I have ever received. The semi came down my street, liftgated it down to my dolly and a friend and I uncrated it, got it up my front steps and lifted it on the rolling cart I had modified just for the Vacmaster. It's huge. Specs say it's 175 pounds and I believe it.

Setup was a snap, just add oil to the pump and you're off to the races. I had half a brisket that needed sealing and it was the first test. Works perfect!

I wanted to show how big this thing is. I'm 6'2" tall so the picture shows the sealer in perspective.

I'm jealous!  I would love one.

I get by just fine with my Weston Pro-2100 but maybe someday I'll get a chamber sealer :)

Gotta love new toys !

I dont really know much about this type of sealer so how does it differ than the normal vac type

Chamber sealer has the entire bag with it's contents in the vacuum chamber. Having liquids in the bag doesn't make any difference as the pressure is the same on the bag, contents and chamber.

Suction sealer is the typical Foodsaver style with the bag on the outside and the bag evacuated by the suction channel. Somewhat limited as to how much liquid can be in the bag as it can be sucked up into the vacuum pump and ruin it.

Chamber vacuum bags are considerably cheaper over the bags/rolls for the suction types as they chamber bags don't require air channels on the inside of the bags

I have the Vacmaster 550 dual. Must say I'm not all that impressed. I get a decent seal using the chamber vac about half the time. I'm not overfilling. Everything fits and I can close the lid. Sometimes it seems like a nice tight vacuum with a good seal and then a hour later there is air in the bag. I have tried different methods, different size bags but seem to always have the same result.

The suction vacuum part is not that user friendly either. Frustrating. I'd like to sell it and get just a larger chamber vac. My experience has always told me that most products that are designed to do multiple things usually do one thing well and the others half a$$ or neither thing very well. Should have listened to that little voice of experience.

I should have went your route the first time Rexster. Looks like a nice unit.

Let's see. I've compressed some fruit, put up some refrigerator pickles with the liquid in a mason jar, vacuum sealed one of those Foodsaver canisters in the chamber, and right now I've got some crosscut beef ribs marinating. Not one leak of liquid in the chamber, all stays in the seal bags.

I just looked at the model of your sealer DUO550. It looks like a good one. Are you using ARY or Weston bags? Some of the ones I've gotten off eBay in the last year seemed like they had pinholes in the roll material. Every other section would work, the other section would lose seal within seconds if it sealed at all.

I'm using bags from Vacmaster so I assume they are good. I purchased a variety box of sizes. I have almost gone through the size I use most but am reluctant to purchase more due to the frustration of using the machine and the time it takes to seal and then reseal the same bag over.
