Hey, new guy here! I just purchased my first ever smoker this past winter, it's a 30" Masterbuilt Electric. This past weekend I had seasoned it to the factory instructions, and will probably try my first smoke this weekend. I'm still not sure what I want to try first. I'm just starting to dip my toes into the whole smoking hobby, so I'll be searching around the forum, to look for answers. See you around!

Some chicken quarters are a good cheap first smoke. I did a pork butt for my first run and found it very easy. My advice would be to get a good thermometer or two and follow the great advice on this site. Welcome to the forum and have fun smokin.

Pork butts are very easy. Find a good. KC rub recipe, you can tweak it your own way if you'd like to your particular taste. Best advice to a beginner would be "tbs" thin blue smoke, too much smoke can be a big turn off. And be patient.

Enjoy what you do.
Happy smoking
