What up smokers? My name is Mike and I am originally from Philly, moved to San Diego at age 24 in 1986, been loving America's finest city ever since. I run a co-ed softball pickup game here in San Diego on Saturday at 1230p at Juarez elementary fields and Mon and Wed at Robb field in OB at 530pm, if anybody is ever in town, come on out, we have bats and gloves available.  Okay, so my wife's Aunt left us a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker 20070712 and I have no clue how to use it. I looked at the users guide and it said to put in wood chips and water and put the meat in and turn it on. Do I need to let teh chips start smoking first, then add meat? Can I use charcoal that has mesquite in it? Can I use charcoal instead of chips at all? I bought some stew meat as it was cheap at 1.99 lb, will it ever get tender?  If so at what temp and for how long? Is it that tender meats take less time? Can I make jerky in it? If so what temp and approximately how long? Is smoking chicken like smoked turkey?
