My father in law has a lot of oak and cherry wood piled up in his shed. Has been stored high and dry for awhile so should burn pretty easy.
Thinking instead of using lump charcoal and wood chunks, use charcoal to start the fire and then go nothing but wood logs the rest of the way.
Anybody got any tips? Pros/Cons? Suggestions?
Using a chargriller with a side fire box. Mainly used to smoke pulled pork, ribs and butterflied whole chickens.
