Well, in about 6 to 8 weeks when my stick burner gets here I'll be cooking on it (along with my WSM).  I'll need to line up some wood for it.

I've been going back and forth about this for nearly a year and could no longer talk myself out of the purchase.  I decided to quit delaying the inevitable and order a Yoder Loaded Wichita.  I'm glad I waited because I had been leaning towards the Cheyenne but decided it might be a bit too small.  The Wichita definitely will be quite a bit too large for most of my cooks but that won't hurt anything.

Excitement abounds! :)

Sounds like a good deal! If you're ever down this way and pass through Yoder, I do recommend stopping at the carriage crossing and getting a bite to eat. Those people know how to make good smokers and better food!

Got it yesterday! Didn't take as long as I expected. I was ready though. It's in the shed with the table, lawn chair, and other items. Nice!

Man now that I look back on this post I should've told you to come down with a trailer and pick up the smoker in person and then head my way and I would've loaded you up with wood for the new rig!

Never been around a stick burner before. Have been using a WSM for several years. Got the smoker Tuesday and attempted to go through the burn-off procedure Wednesday after work but didn't manage to get up to the desired temperature range. Thursday after work I got aggressive and easily went into and somewhat past the temperature range for the burn-off. Used lump charcoal both nights. Not yet like controlling the temperature on the WSM.

Got a small load of hickory and oak delivered Friday.

Wife is going to Costco tonight and is bringing home some meat so I can learn how to use my smoker. I'll try to do a cook Saturday and maybe again Sunday.

Man, it's a nice smoker!

Of course mine looks entirely different because mine has the little bucket on the hook for the grease drain. :D
