Masterbuilt 30 - Should I leave it plugged in?

I use my Masterbuilt 30 2-3x per month, is there any benefit unplugging it from the outlet after each use? I noticed that it 'beeps' when I plug it in, leading me to believe something's staying energized when it's plugged in...Thoughts?

I always unplug it, drape the cord over the top of the MES and then cover it.  Rather not have the cord/plug exposed to the elements directly.

When mine was in a covered area I just kept it plugged in all the time.

But now I just use it for sausage making & keep it stored away from a plug.

I really don't think it matters if it's plugged in all the time or not.

Unplug that chinese electric chair! There is alway hot electricity going to one of the legs of the element when the green pwr. Light is on and not programed for time and temp. Which means after the cook and the machine shuts off, as long as the pwer green light is on and you stand in puddle with it raining and even with it grounded your odds are high to get zapped. Mine always beeps when I plug it in. I think it's a continuity notification. Unplug it.

lol I'm not a doctor. It's a handle here in SMF. It's in my signature in my posts so it exempts me from a pretentious title. I know nothing and can prove it!

Same here. There have been enough posts about water trailing down the cord into the junction box, and also other issues with moisture that I figure that even with the super-fancy cover I got for Xmas, I don't want to risk anything. Also, there have been lots of posts about the MES controllers being flaky and I definitely experienced that when a friend brought his Gen 2 MES to me for repair.
