Hey guys it's been quite awhile since I posted anything, but I finally got back to work on my 40s GE fridge conversion.

I've got all of the major things built, just waiting on some silicone and a door seal. Hoping to be able to use it this weekend, if the AMNPS shows up.

I finally was able to fire it up for awhile today, with the door off so I could keep an eye on the heater, it started to bring the temp up a bit even wide open on the front. My biggest fear is the heater, it's a 1550w finned but because of the smaller size of the fridge I sunk it down in a stainless warmer pan, then mounted 2-4" grill dampners on the side of the pan. I'm worried about the heater, should it be red hot? I just want to know if thats normal for these. I know the stove elements get that way but just want to be extra sure. I enclosed a pic of the heater, and one of the overall box.

Thanks guys

Ok guys, I think I answered my first question, I remembered that you cant use the finned heater at full power unless theres forced air over it, so I cut the power back to 64% per another post on here using the same element. but now it seems to be taking a LONG time to heat up, Im just giving it a test run, no seal in it yet, but theres not much heat escaping. Right now its been about 30min and its just getting up to 150 degrees, which is where I have it set. That seems too long, should I up the ouput to 75% since its pretty well open under the box? Im using the Auberins SMD-100, I read in the instructions you can mess with  the P setting if it takes tool long to heat up. Any suggestions? Its a 1550w heater
