Hi Folks,

I do not know how to weld and I had a very bad experience ordering a custom smoke that required shipping.  The smoker was pretty much destroyed during shipping.  I buddy suggested contact a steel fabricator more local.  Now I need to have blue prints to show these local fabricators in order for them to build something.

I want a Vertical smoker with an offset box on wheels.  I'm think the CC should be about 36"W x 28"D x 60" H  Then the fire box and a lower frame that is about 12" - 18" high.  I don't know how to calculate how big the fire box should be based on the size of the CC.  I'm sure there are calculations or good guesses.  I'm sure there are many other questions I need to know the answer to.  That is why I thought, If I could get my hands on a set of plans (Will to buy them) it would help.  Also by buying local, I can get it delivered for a small fraction of the cost I was paying to get it sent from several states away.  That extra money I can put into the price of the smoker and get a bigger unit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If this doesn't work,  I'll probably go back to the guy that built my first one.  He was great.  Only the shipping was a problem.

Thanks for reading my thread.  I hope to see back soon.

Thanks again.

Dimensions are 45.5"x25.5"x56.25".  Smoke Canyon at Bass Pro Shops--is there one close to you?  Or not what you're looking for?
I have seen that over the past year that I have been looking.  I even came close to ordering it but I'm looking for something bigger.  I need a lot of capacity.  I need it to make beef jerky so I need a lot of removable racks with maybe 2" clearance.  This way I can make a large batch of jerky at one time but I can also remove a few racks and fit some big roasts or even a small pig.

Thanks for reaching out.

Draw what you want on some grid (math)  paper and post it here.

We can advise you on any potential problems.

Most of my plans are in my head or scribbled on a piece of paper.

I was thinking about going bigger, but went with these dimensions because it was the perfect size for two full 4x8 sheets.
And even at this size, I have over 3,000 square inches of cooking space.  I spaced the racks 6" apart. If I would have gone 5", I could have fit another rack, and added another 529 square inches.
