Hi all, just purchased a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker and cold smoke attachment.

I'm located in northwest Pennsylvania, and am looking forward to getting some advice from all of you experienced smokers.

Thank you for the welcome. i am going to smoke a small (3lb.) pork butt today. It's been rubbed and wrapped and in the fridge since yesterday afternoon. I'm trying to get a rough estimate on the total time this will take... most everything i have read on smoking butts has been with much larger pieces of pork.

I'm smoking my first shoulder today also mines a little over 5lbs what I did is when into the search and looked up pulled pork there's a cpl of really good threads in there one breaks it down almost hour by hour ,Good luck and I'm glad I'm not the only rookie here
