My new reverse flow "Frankenstein" is just about done, made out of a 250 gallon air compressor. should I burn it out before paint? Whats correct process for paint and seasoning? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used a high temp engine block primer first, I purchased it from an auto parts store. Then I sprayed it with a high temp flat black rustoleum paint from Lowes, it's going on about 3 years now and still holding up fine. I did however rub it down with WD40 after the original coat of flat black paint had dried and have done additional wipe downs about every year or so.
