Currywurst

Well I can't understand it but then again I don't speak it. But I do love a good currywrst sausage. When I lived in Calgary there was an old German butcher that made phenomenal sausage and those were the best I have had in years.
 
My wife and I first experienced Currywurst in the Munich Bahnhof (train station) when vacationing in Germany a couple of years ago.  There are a number of food stands around the perimeter of the station, and near the exit closest to our hotel, we ran into the most entrancing aroma we'd smelled.  It may have been that we were tired after a long trip to get there, or maybe it was simply that we were really hungry (more likely).  We went to the counter and (kinda) read the menu.  Seeing Currywurst and having never tried it, we both decided on a "Currywurst mit Fanta, bitte."  The vendor dropped a nice looking 12" brat into a vertical doodad, hit a button and it went "grr.  grr." a few times, slicing the wurst into 15 or so pieces, which he then deposited into a wavy-edged hot dog paper.  He grabbed a squirt bottle of sauce and applied it liberally over the top, then presented with a tiny cocktail fork and Fanta (orange) drink.  Couple of Euros and we were away.  Damn.  That was the best wurst I'd had in forever (until my return and intro to Fleischerei Eggars - see intro post).  I'll eventually post the sauce that the wife and I both agree is we had in Munich - but I've gotta find a good German brat recipe, too.
