Friend of mine gave me a couple steaks a roast and some ground deer what is the best recipe for deer meat and the type of wood I should use
 
Do you have any favorites of beef recipes in the same type cuts you would like to try? We harvest deer every year and our big projects is sausage, Jerky, and keep a few steaks. Unless we don't get a draw for large animal. 

 Smoked steaks are great, Stroganoff is really good, Cold smoke the deer first, And I love stuffed smoked burgers. We like to stuff them with mushrooms,onions, and lots of old / sharp cheddar  .
 
Grill the steaks (unless you have a sous vide), crock pot the roast, and mix the veni burger with some good burger and smoke a meatloaf. Hickory wood for smoke
 
I'm also thinking a fattie would be great........ Mix a bit of ground pork with the venison..... stuff roll wrap with bacon and smoke.... How can you go wrong.....
