About 6am this morning I realized I left my 2 pack of thawing baby backs out on the counter all night. I was planning on smoking them tomorrow; can we still use them or should I toss them and get some new ones? I would just prefer not to get sick.

When you say all night, how many hours were they out of the freezer on the counter?

What was the temp of the ribs when you found them?

We need a little more info.

They were out from probably 730pm to 630am. Definitely warm when I touched them. Figured there was no saving them. The house only gets down to about 60 at night. I meant to put them back in the fridge before bed, but my fiancé and I walked straight through the dark kitchen to the bedroom.

Probably okay since they're cryovacced and were frozen when you sat them out.

I wouldn't serve them in a restaurant but if everyone at home is healthy you'll very likely be fine.

That said, 2 racks of ribs isn't worth a hospital bill so if you have doubts then toss them and chalk it up to learning experiences.
