I have used the minion method a handful of times with pretty good results.  But I want to fine tune the method for consistency.

I am using an All Seasons Feeders offset 3/16 steel with 24 x 20 cook chamber & firebox, which I have sealed using Lavalock nomex..  I am currently using a 12x12x6 expanded metal basket (made from plans I got from this forum), which seems to be a bit small for extended burns.

My questions are...

1)  What size basket should I use for smokes up to 10-12 hours

2)  I have seen a couple of minion methods.  One being put lit coals on top, another other putting the coals on the side nearest the air intake, and one using a maze.  Which one of these gives the optimum results?

Thanks for the help.

I like to use the method with lit coals on the side. This is partially due the fact that it is easier to set up that way. I have had success with both though. As far as basket sizes, I am of no help. Sorry.
