Hi from freezing cold pgh,pa...figured I'd give smoking a try....got a masterbuilt20070210 to play around with...seasoned it yesterday and ready to give it a shot..found some awesome dry rub recipes which Ive made,and tried..debating what to smoke to ' break my cherry', lol....ribs or brisket....any tips on either????

I always tell folks for a first smoke to try chicken.

It's cheap & easy to smoke.

Leg quarters are just about as easy as it gets.

Also I would suggest you get yourself a good thermometer.

A dual probe such as a Maverick would be a good choice.

Then you can monitor the meat temp & pit temp from in the house.
