Yep, you got it.   Smoked toothpicks, they are best after the meal.       I got to thinking about this one smoke or two ago and did it. The outcome was the best tasting, smelling and with the marbled look, looking.  Here is what I did:

The smoker is upright and the toothpicks were regular.  The toothpicks were placed on a screen (the one I used was a grease screen from  a fry daddy  to keep the splattering down).  Then with the smoker smoking at a good rolling smoke and the toothpicks placed  on the top rack and lid on, stir about 25 minutes into. Smoke about 45 min. overall to give a burst of flavor and give long lasting taste.  Place in a holder and keep them handy for all to enjoy.

That's it, I hope there are folks that will do this and bring them to the table, even if you don't have teeth they're awesome.

Well, I gotta admit that's a first for me.  And the truth is, I can't come up with a single reason why its not a great idea.  Sounds like a neat way to finish off a meal.

I just have to give you a POINT for originality on this one.

Ronald, I would like to apologize... I quit responding this morning when you were running this by me in private message. Before I'd had my morning coffee, I read "smoking toothpicks" and took you as somebody trolling for a sucker, and I logged off. In hindsight, I see you've introduced yourself in "Roll Call", and posted here. I can only say.... wow, and why not? Granted, it would be a niche market.... but maybe you should keep this idea to yourself and look for a specialty market to sell these? Also, sorry again, and wecome to the site!

Love smoking ingenuity.

Rather than smoking potpourri, just hang one of the racks from your smoker on the wall or place it behind the couch, your wife will love the added touch.

On low heat adequate smoke for about 15 to 20 minutes on an offset smoker and with all my air vents nearly shut
