My wife made wonton yesterday. Did them outside so we dont get the greasy smell in the 5th wheel. Recipe came from a lady couple years ago who owns a restaurant in Hong Kong. She uses ground turkey instead of pork. Made a whole foil pan so we drove around the resort handing out wonton.

Rick they look good bet the neighbors were happy. We make them with Crab

Oh those look good Rick!

I bet between the sausage, cheese, & the wontons your a pretty popular guy around there.

Those look very tasty !  Was curious to know what spices were used for the Turkey ?  Would that recipe be open to the general public or is that an Ancient Chinese Secret?

The lady (cant pronounce her name) gave us pretty basic recipe.

1lb ground turkey

1 smal onion diced

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp soy (or to taste)

garlic powder to taste

1 egg

fungus (as she called them) dried black or shitake mushroom soaked for 45 mins then diced.

black pepper to taste

parsley flakes to taste.

4x4" wonton wrappers. (she said buy them at asian mkt, way better)

Mix all above, make 1 wonton, fry, may have to adjust to your taste. Spoonful meat into the middle of a wonton wrapper, use water along the sides to seal the wrapper over meat, deep fry at 375* until brown on both sides.

Thanks for sharing the recipe Rick, will be trying this one for sure.  Basic recipe or not, I can't imagine this being anything other then out of this world!  The only thing I will be doing a little different is using fresh Lard from my last Hog to fry them.

We fried in lard also.

Those look tasty,we had chicken ones for dinner the other night.

Nepas, my only concern is that the won ton will burn in about a minute. Is that long enough to cook the turkey?
Yes.

Its not a large amount of meat, only takes like 2 mins to fry one up all the way thru. We had our fryer at 375 with no problems. You want to use lard, canola, pnut or sunflower oil that can take the temps

Nepas original post with pics looked great ! For me personally the use of good Lard in the cooking process is the only thing I would have done different, not knowing Rick was already one step ahead of me ! LOL
