Hello, Newbe with propane Vert needs HelP !

Seems friendly here so I figured I would ask for some S.O.S. I have the Masterbuilt 30 and have been having the same heat fluctuations as the rest of most of the owners. I have smoked a couple of butts, a rack of ribs and a hen. I thought I had it figured out my hair trigger regulator last night by doing a dry run. Smoker came up and I found a place I could hold 250. I marked it and went to bed, this morning I fire it up put in a brisket flat and can not get the smoker higher than 180? Could the mass of the brisket combined with the water and slightly colder air have this much effect?

Diego the meat shouldn't cause the issue.

First are you using the factory Thermometer?

Are you using a water pan?

What is the color of your flame?

Thanks Brian, what was the problem was a faulty regulator at the smoker. I turned it on and off a couple of times and could tell I was now getting more flow.

I've read a few times, that when turning on the valve of your tank, to crack it slightly, and open it slowly. Opening it too fast trips some safety inside the regulator.

Don't know how true this is, but it's on the Internet, so it has to be true. :biggrin:
