My brother-in-law mentioned this forum/site to me one afternoon while we were having a conversation about sausage making and meat smoking during a mid-day muzzleloader hunting trip break. Once I got home I logged on and surfed around for a while and knew this site was for me.

Now that I've been on the site for about six week, I've decided to build my very own backyard smokehouse. I guess I got bit by the bug. I'm in the design phase right now but once I get started, I'll start a new thread so the community can follow my progress.

Since I'll be interacting with the forum during my smokehouse build, I thought I should tell you a little bit about myself. If I've managed to get everything setup correctly, you should see a list of my equipment / toys listed in the signature area below, so no need to go through all of that.

I'm a VP for a mid level electrical contracting company working out of the Baltimore, MD area. I work hard at what I do so I can do the things I love to do. My family and close friend have always been, and always will continue to be my number one priority. I also work hard at giving back to my community through the various charitable organizations I belong to.

Outside of that, I enjoy hunting, fishing, photography, woodworking, beer/wine making, bread baking, sausage making, grilling and of course smoking anything that will fit in the smoker. I guess you could say, I'm a hands on kind of guy. I also LOVE our Baltimore Ravens!!!

This is a great place to hang out. Thanks for letting me become a part of your community and I look forward to interacting with everyone.

Mike

Hello and welcome to you.

I'm glad that you're here on this great site.

Pictures of your build and your smokes are good things.

I hope you have great fun with all this.
