Hey Everyone,

I've been lurking on your forums for a few months trying to get ideas with building my first smoker. The motivation to build a smoker came from this Summer, my wife and I built new garden boxes using 1"x6"x8' cedar planks. Well we decided to only build two boxes instead of three, and I have this cedar sitting in my workshop. I want to transform it into a smoker, that is small, since I am new to smoking.

The smoker I was looking to build is 3-foot tall, by 2-feet deep and 2-feet wide. I would also like it to be portable, and I would like to hot smoke in it. I live in the city, and I don't really have enough space to have a more permanent option. An electric burner would be nice, but i don't know what size i would need for that setup.

I have no prior experience smoking, i just know i enjoy smoked food as good as the next, and my wife is on board with this new project.

Anyway, any input would be great, and thank you in advance.
