I live in Massachusetts spitting distance to the New Hampshire border.  I recently receive a Traeger pellet wood grill.  I have only had it a couple of weeks.  I have been making my own jerky for about a year using an electric dehydrator , and my first two batches through the grill work great, the taste awesome and addictive .  However, I have a few allergies to wood( Birch Maple and Oak) and the  smoked jerky is kicking them off; that is how I found your forum.

Living on the East coast my pellets contain Oak.  I confirmed this with Traeger.  They say their hickory and mesquite no longer contain oils.
