That looks awesome. Did you have any problems with your doors warping when you cut the firebox opening? Mine warped a little when I was welding on the hinges even though I left the corners intact. I just wondered if something else could warp while I was doing the fire box.

Nope, my doors stayed relatively the same, they sprung a hair but not by much.

Finally got it loaded on a trailer and was able to go power wash the inside. Surprising how much residue was on the walls. Makes me wonder if I should just build a fire in the whole cooking chamber too for my first burn and just strip the whole thing.

Dang, are you planning to use Uranium to heat this thing?  Lol  You'll be able to see this smoker from space.  I hope this is going to be more than just a back yard smoker.

Got the fire box built and test fitted. More trimming needs to be done before final mounting.

Really hoping this thing sees fire next weekend. [emoji]128515[/emoji]
What happened to the round firebox you had in your pictures earlier?
That is a big firebox.
Looks like you are close to making the smoke roll.

It's in there. Insulated fire box. Franklin insulates the inside, but I liked Lewis' idea of insulating the outside.

It will be interesting to see how this works for you.

Agreed! I went with a fatty 500 gallon cut in half so internal volume is 1/4 of the cook chamber. Not quite the 1/3 rule of thumb and for sure bigger than Franklin or Lewis use, so we'll see if that works in my favor or against me.
