Hey all, I've been wanting to try this stuff for a while ! Wanna give a shout out to Case for the recipe & answering a few questions for me ! I followed his recipe on this, the only thing I changed was on one batch I added a tsp of red pepper flakes !

Thanks again Case & here's his thread I followed !

So, was planning on some beef, pork & tried to think of something else to try ! Well... had some beef, the pork we must have used & I forgot, but we recently were fortunate enough to have 40 lbs of chicken breasts given to us... I've never tried chicken breast for jerky, but figured we'd give it a shot !

So got everything mixed up & in the fridge overnight !

Yesterday afternoon, fired up the MES ! This is bout hour & a half in, was firing up the AMNPS with pitmaster blend dust to start the smoke !

So, yesterday while trying to smoke this had a power outage ! Haven't had a power outage for a while, but trying to do some jerky & it goes out right in the middle of this smoke ! What's the odds huh ? :dunno Anyway, not complaining I just found it interesting ! LOL Temp fell from 150* to 86* but all was good ! I think the AMNPS helped keep the temp from totally falling ! Just fired the MES back up after the outage & we were in business again ! On a side note, I need a generator !

So, here's what we ended up with...

The beef, great taste... I like the red pepper flake batch the best ! Not that the regular isn't good, it's great... I just prefer a bit more spicy ! Both batches are real tasty !

The chicken breast, I was real curious how this was gonna turn out ! This stuff is great, it seriously turned out real tasty !

We will be doing this jerky again for sure, very tasty stuff ! Somethin I'd never have thought to try but glad we did !

Thanks for lookin all !

Looks great, didn't go for the paper thinness lot easier that way!

Thanks man, we like different textures on our jerky ! Like the thin to a bit thicker, appreciate ya dropping a line !

Looks Great, Justin! Elk and venison would be the end all for this recipe!

Last batch I added another dose of white pepper just to see how the kids would handle it. Went over just fine. Added a bit more kick. Add the pepper flakes and it'd be right online for hot heads. Nice thing about this simple recipe is the base lends itself well to changing it up!

Nice smoke, Points!

Justin I never gave Chicken a thought for Jerky! Points for thinking outside the box

Looks great Justin! I did my first beef jerky the other day and was fun! I think I'll try different types and thickness. Great job!

Great smoke and you're correct, this recipe is amazingly good!  Smells like @$$ at first, but the end result rocks!

I too will give points for the chicken jerky.  I haven't tried it with this recipe, but these 2 sound like they were made for each other!
