I've got some tenderloin marinating and realizing that it won't be until Saturday until I'll be able to smoke it. The anticipation is already getting to me. I didn't get a chance to season my Masterbuilt 20060112 today and wonder how long that I should wait after seasoning it that I can make my first run though it?

Burn off the manufact' oils, start making smoke and add the meat...Look at it this way. A well seasoned Cast Iron Pan cooks great but even a New Pan will cook if you heat it and add meat...Same with the smoker. Gets better with age but will cook out of the box...JJ

Just burn off any residue from the plant (about an hour or two at top heat setting should do it.)  Then you'll be good to go.  The great part of all this is that your smoker will be all heated up so all you have to do is dial in your temperature and away you go.
