I really wish I could get whole tri tips like that. It just looks great, B1

Disco

Thanks Disco, really liking the rotisserie! im planning on doing one with Cajun spice soon. Sorry it's hard for you to get nice meats is it just you live to far from bigger cities? Anyways I'm sure the great views make up for a lot!

Yep. The nearest city is 18,000 people with a couple of supermarkets. The nearest city of major size is about 3 hours away. However, you are right. Living here is worth it.

I'd never have thought of doing a tri on a spit. It just doesn't seem logical.. But it's obviously possible.

We really need to have a rotisserie section outside of the build forum. I have used a spit for years but always kept it put away for the occasional roast or chicken. I think we could really enlighten a lot of people about the versatility of a spit (which is probably the oldest means of cooking over or near a fire), including me..

Well I stopped go get some Tri tip today only to find out my GFS stopped carrying it!?!?
I talked to the manager and they will talk to a BBQ guy down the street so hopefully we can split a case I would hate to fill the freezer with a case but may have to.

I live in a "big city" and can't get it without having it special cut at around $8 a lb. GFS will order for me but I don't relish taking out a loan for a case. I'll probably get another one before the summer's out but for now I'll stick with chuckles and briskets...

I can tell you, I'm an addict. Now more then ever the rotisserie kicks them up another notch! I will have my TT and eat it to, just hopefully not a whole case at a time. When I first got one around me they were $7.99# then summer spiked them to $13.99+ and then I might as well eat a ny strip! Earlier this year the TT was under $3# and last time I got some they were $4.75 IIRC. Not sure what the new price will be just have to hope for the best.
