Sound enough like a personal add? :)

My name is Jeff and i am coming to you live from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. My previous experience with smoked meat is eating a lot of it....and then thinking how nice it would be to make my own...I currently do not have a smoker as i am torn between 2 units (Smokey Hollow 38 or Smoke Vault). I have a Weber kettle and have had some success using that but i am ready for a dedicated smoker with room to make a good amount of food for my family and parties.

I appreciate any advice folks can give as i walk through purchasing my first set-up. I have used a lot of the comments i read in this forum to identify the type of smoker i want as well as thermometers and parts to mod /fix (nomex and sealer). I look forward to getting this going!

Jeff, welcome to SMF!  My parents were Mountaineers before heading west.  Fairmont and Morgantown were their homes.

Glad you are here and filled with questions.  Folks familiar with the gear you are looking at should be along shortly. If you don't want to wait, use the Search feature for Smoke Hollow 38 and Smoke Vault.  You'll get some ideas.

Have fun!

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from another hot day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
