I'm new to these here parts. What's considered the dark side? Going with electric?

It's an old joke about a stick burner buying an electric smoker or a propane smoker. It was said in good fun.

I still have both stick burners and will use them for large cooks and for cold smoking sausage and such. This MES will be perfect for me and the wife for smaller cooks.

I do have to agree about being perfect for smaller cooks.  I bought mine strictly to make jerky but the convenience is a huge benefit.  I still cook a lot on my WSM but when I just want to throw something in and do other stuff until it's done, it's hard to be the MES and an AMNPS.

That's the best laugh I've had in a while! We shall see about the intervention... She seems to be doing pretty good!
